FEDA: The Emblem of Justice is a game based of on the Fire Emblem series & unless I am mistaken, IT IS infact also alligned with the original series time & plot lines. I got the chance to play this game before, when the first unfinished English translation patch was made available for it. Unfortunately that first patch was riddled with bugs caused by the early translation coding methods at the time & as far into the game the translation was, it really didn't go very far. I only got to like six missions back then before the text became all garbage text which looped endlessly. Needless to say, the group who released this latest patch says that this new one is perfect in every way :D

So if you're like me who keeps tabs on retro games translation projects like this one, or are a Fire Emblem fan, I highly recommend you try this one out :D

The patch can be found at RHDN, via this link:

    Have fun guys! :)

Erm, I think I shot the gun a bit early :(

I've encountered problems patching the game. According to the readme file along with the FEDA English patch, you need a FEDA ROM file whose file size ends with 521 when you look at the ROM File's actual file size on your disk, but every FEDA ROM I found ends with 440 as the file size. I've even tried getting the ROM at other rival sites (sorry for that by the way :( ) but every copy of the ROM everywhere all have the same file size. You could say it might be a typo the creators of the patch made, but if so patching the game should result in a functional game but unfortunately it doesn't.

Man it was too good to be true :(

EDIT Yet again: « Last Edit: Today at 10:45:21 PM by Cahos Rahne Veloza »

OK good thing I went into the translation team's site, the problem is, the patch NEEDS a Header, where as the Readme file on the zip arcchive on RHDN says it doesn't. I will try patching the ROM again & will promptly report back to you guys in awhile.

    FINAL EDIT:

Cool! Everything's working perfectly now, the game really looks AWESOME!!

    OK, explained simplistically:

    1. Download FEDA: Emblem of Justic ROM here at RomUlation:

    https://www.romulation.org/Retro/SNES/Feda_-_The_Emblem_of_Justice.7z.html/

    2. Download FEDA english patch here:

    http://www.romhacking.net/trans/349/

    3. Download these two utilities:

SNESTool -> http://www.romhacking.net/utils/18/ - you need this to add a header to the raw JapanesE FEDA: The Emblem of Justice (J).smc ROM.

LunarIPS -> http://www.romhacking.net/utils/240/ - this is what you use to hard patch the FEDA English translation patch onto the raw Japanese FEDA - The Emblem of Justice (J).smc ROM.

    4. Extract both the FEDA: The Emblem of Justice ROMs arcchive & English patch arcchive.

    5. On the files extracted from the ROMs arcchive delete every other ROM file EXCEPT FEDA: The Emblem of Justic (J).smc as the others are either bad dumps, beta version dumps & a pre patch ROM that had the older faulty translation patch on it.

    6. Double click on SNESTool to run it, the program is an application that runs on the command line but uses a GUI for ease of use. Use your keyboard's arrow keys to navigate the various command options within SNEStool. Now select "Add a Header" command & press enter. To locate your FEDA ROM file, press the left arrow key on your keyboard to access the various folders & sub directories on your computer until you find the ROM you want. BUT, seeing as you might have downloaded SNEStool the first time along with the FEDA ROM & patch just now you might not need to navigate as such because if you placed all of these four files onto one place SNEStool will immediately show you your FEDA .smc ROM on screen once you start the "Add Header" command. Now select your FEDA ROM using the up/down arrow key/s then press enter. It will then ask you if you want to make your FEDA ROM into a HiROM or not, you don't need to know what the hell that means so just press Y for yes & end the header attachment process. After applying the header onto your ROM exit SNESTool by pressing on the ESC key of your keyboard.

    7. Now that your raw FEDA ROM has a header, use LunarIPS to apply the English translation patch onto your FEDA ROM. If you're at a loss on how to do this, just follow the steps in the tutorial here:

    https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=17418.msg67500#msg67500

    8. Run the newly patched ROM on your preferred SNES emulator & have fun! :D

Yes after the patching process you should get a 3MB Feda ROM & the game runs well on both ZSNES & SNES9X
