Slow loading

    well my R4i pocket (fake yes i know :p)
    everytime i load a rom on it it loads reaalllllyyy slowly
    on my EDGE that got stolen they loaded just like *clicks fingers* that
    but on this it takes 2 - 5 mins to load a rom up
    such as FF tactics a2
    loaded quickly before
    but 5 mins now
    is there any way to speed this process up?
    ive got a 4gb Kingston sd card if that helps

    EDIT: also, is there any way to change the ugly start up theme? :-[
