SKINNING THE EDGE CARD

Hi Folks,

Looking for a bit of advice. ??? I have an edge card and hate the damn default skin. So have loaded on a couple of skins. The Edge manual mentions "\EDGE\skins\blah\skin.xml". I have downloaded and extracted and opened a skin folder and put my chosen skins inside in their wee folders inside the edge folder, but when I put the Micro sd card in the ds the Edge folder shows the folder icon and a couple of dots at the top of the "\"after it - no \EDGE\skins\blah\. It finds the folders for music and video okay, just dioesnt register the edge folder except for the 2 dots. I created an "edge edge" folder and it showed okay, but still no new skins in the settings. The edge file only had the xml and cheats in it - unless of course there are others and they are cunningly hidden?!.
So the card cant find any skins except the manky default. Also I'm running latest .dat, I have read somewhere that edge can use Cylcods skins does anyone know if this is the case?

It depends. If Cyclo uses the same format for the configuration (.xml etc.) then probably. Although if the interfaces are different between the two, then it wouldn't work and you'd just need to keep your own configuration which works fine in most cases.

So yeah you're supposed to make a folder named skins in your EDGE folder. Once you've got your skin, drag the folder straight into the skins folder. Then boot up your EDGE, go to Options/Misc. Then click on Skin.

Thanks for the reply.Okay if I go into Moonshell /v 1.71 I have an /Edge/skins/greenhillshell I can click on the skin and it will open up on Moonshell, but it wont let me play any games as it doesnt have the right adaptor. I appreciate this is a different issue, but when I switch back to the Edge load up screen, Edge V1.42/ top folder titled two dots.. If I press A to enter it takes me back to the options screen. If I go to Setings /misc I can change them all except the skins - default only, but the skins are on and found by Moonshell...Hmmmm. Sorry to be a pest. This is beginning to hack me off - might go and buy some quality street choccies and stick on the coloured clear sweetie wrappers!!.

Phew finally got the Edge re-skinned. Helps when you get the correct Edge skin themes. Looks much better now.
