I have a white PSP 3003. I do love it and I love the games, but I just don't get the time to play on it. I also have a DSi XL and I play that occasionally, but I wouldn't sell that. Not sure what to do. :-\
imo the psp is a terrible console, with good psp games made few and far between. But that's just me. See how much trade in value it has in game specialists, then see how much it could go for on Ebay or Amazon. If you're happy with the value, sell it.
Try selling it locally on Craigslist, You'll be able to sell it for alot more than trade in values at game stores.
FANBOY ALERT. FANBOY ALERT. The PSP is actually a terrific console. It doesn't deserve all the bashing it gets by a very long shot. For every couple of good DS games, there is a great PSP game. People just seem to have this terrible tendency to say the PSP is bad because it isn't a Nintendo handheld, so it can't be good. I've owned a DS since launch, and I have to say, I get just as much enjoyment out of the PSP I bought.
I have owned both of them since release and i have to say i have only just started playing my psp. It just doesnt have the support from developers and lacks good released, mainly due to the single analog stick
Hacking/not hacking your psp can be the difference between seeing it as a waste of money and loving it, IMO, depending on which retail games you can/can't get and if you love emulation and PS1. I just got one yesterday, hacked it, and love it 50 times more already simply because of how huge the homebrew scene was/is for it. Try hacking it before you give up on it.
Signed games are pirated games you can play on the official firmware, though i think they require OFW 6.30 at least i think so it would probably be hard to CFW it for all the other non signed games you want to pirate.
If you ask my opinion.. on a pretty dilemma that even i have been going through with my PSP... the answer is.. If you sell your PSP ... going by the current prices you will only get a decent selling price on either the PSP or the DS, which will mean not much to your benefits, so it's better if you keep it.. But I will definitely end up selling my PSP to make room for the PS Vita, which eventually has backward compatibility for original PSP games..!!
I sold my PSP a few months ago over ebay, got $100 for it. It was the limited edition peace walker psp (Spirit Green), and it had numerous games included with it. Wish I got more. But as to whether or not you should sell it, yes, I'd say so. PSP is dead, there will be no more good games for it as the PSVita launches later this year, and by keeping it its just decreasing in value.
I don't think there is a US release date yet, but it is confirmed for the US, so no worries there. I'm pretty excited for this one too. It seems like it will be one hell of a last hurrah for the PSP. I only say that because of the lack of third party support on the PSP, and first party is going to shift entirely to the Vita when that comes out.
Only ones available from PSN. There won't be a UMD drive on it due to the UMD format being terrible, and the drive being bulky.
