Hey guys. I've got a story to complement this one, but if you can't be bothered, just skip to the enxt paragraph down. I recently got a good graphics card, and it occurred to me that it might be good enough to efficiently run a Dreamcast emulator. I want to play Shenmue II, but my options are A) Pay a ludicrous price to import Shenmue II from Europe, B) Import some 900MB CDR's from Europe (I can't find them in America), C) Buy an Xbox (I could borrow my friend's, but I recently bought the XBOX version for him, and he couldn't get it to work on his 360), or D) Run an emulator. I'm currently in the process of option D, but the problem is I can only download the whole game at once, which would take four hours to download, and frankly, I can't let a download run for that long. I kept thinking to myself, "gee, it really would be awesome if this was up on ROMU or Zophar so I could download it one disc at a time, at half an hour a piece at the most." CUTTING TO THE CHASE: I'd love it if the ROMU administration would add the Euro version of Shenmue II (I KNOW IT WILL WORK ON NULLDC) to Romulation.
Overburned??? How's that possible? Is it possible to do that with Nero? Well, good thing I held on to my boot disk. Also, that doesn't fix the problem that I can't even download the game because I can't leave a download running for that long.
overburning allows burning more data than the cd is supposedly capable of holding. It doesn't always work. Dreamcast games must be burned using padus discjuggler and a compatible burner (listed on the padus website).
...won't the emulator run the iso's alone? I heard that a certain version of daemon tools is required (does NOT work on windows vista or 7 ) , because the data on a dc game won't work with a pc once burnt. Confused, well same thing with gamecube games, you can burn them on your pc, but once made you can't see the data...unless you have a compatible LG drive. So if your on xp, and do a few google search and scan torrents (as this daemon tools is old) then you might have something to work with.
Why would you have to burn an iso when you just have to mount it on daemon tools? I've run DC games on the latest Daemon tools and I'm running on Vista. There's a problem with the joystick plug-in and NullDC if I remember right. Also, a DC game comes up as an audio disc, just like the PSX. If you really want Shenmue 2, look it up on google (search like, 'Shenmue 2 Dreamcast iso download'), go look up a torrent, or check out emuparadise. And if you need help burning DC isos to play them on the console, it's ridiculously easy. Look it up on youtube. All you have to do is download the iso, open Disc Juggler, check a few options, and then burn.
...I never got dc games running on my pc with the latest daemon tools... But correct me here, I heard these games may need patching to work-cause the emu would recognise them as cd's and not games
Most, if not all DC isos are either prepatched, you need a boot disc or don't have ANY anti-piracy measures (this is applicable to playing the games on a DC). With emulators, you don't need anything.
Then why didn't mine wor? I used nullDC, made several threads in the past...in the end I just removed all of the stuff I had for it (roms from here-I had obtained a bios from torrents and other sources)
ive never emulated dreamcast, I just burn the game and play on my unmodded dreamcast console. Sometimes it can take several attempts to boot the game, but all the games I've tried have eventually worked. Even without utopia.
You guys are missing the point entirely. I know how to play DC isos, and apparently now I can just play it on my console. My problem is that I can't download it all at once because it takes too long! If it was up on this site, I could download it one disk at a time.

I haven't tested the game, it came out of a goodset though.
Thank you very much! If it would be possible to upload the other 3 discs to the Romulation domain (if I'm making any sense) so I can just download it from there rather than come back to this topic, and so I don't have to pester you for them, it would be greatly appreciated. But for now, this will certainly give me enough to at least test to see if I can get a burned import to work on my console.
disc 2 is being uploaded, I hadn't noticed 3 and 4 but I'll upload them tomorrow. I cant add them to romulation because we aren't carrying PAL DC games at this time.
Aw. Oh well, thank you, though. Post Merge: [time]1273192316[/time] Okay, sorry for the double-post, but where can I get the full version of Discjuggler without paying/torrenting, if such a place even exists?
You aren't allowed to ask that here. the trial of discjuggler AFAIK is full version, the burn speed is limited, which is a good thing in this case. (burning slowly helps to avoid errors). This copy of shemue II appears to be alcohol 120% files though.
Oh, sorry. Ah, darn, my Alcohol 120 trial expired and I can't uninstall it then reinstall the trial. Is there a way to convert MDF to CDI without A120? Also, I think I might own a version of the Dreamcast that won't play ISOs. Apparently, if you own a dreamcast developed after October 2000, it doesn't work. I'm pretty sure that's the one I have since my boot disc shows up as an audio CD.
conversion generally doesnt work regardless of the formats involved. There was one US version of the dreamcast that doesn't work with burned games, but all european versions do.
