  1. Why can't people let go?
It was a very sad day, yes I agree, and most of us remember where we were when it happened, whether it be in a classroom, work, or just anywhere, you were bound to hear about it, for it was a huge media frenzy, and the first time in forever that there had been such a direct and large attack on US soil.
Not saying the past should be forgotten, but you have to move on.
And one other small thing...Some people are actually milking it, like those commercials for the "september 11th commemorative coin or bill"...sickens me.
    Just my two cents

this may be better moved to the debates/rants thread

but i totaly agree far worse things have happend in the world and eveyone else moves on, for example the usa nuking japan wich is a far worse crime then any counrty has made against another ever. but no one goes on about that anymore.
all i ever hear is 9/11 this and 9/11 that, get over it you caused it, it was known well in advance and nothing was done.

it was a horrible event but its done give it a rest

this is a very funny topic. when i watch movies and tv shows, they always tell you to move on when someone dies or when you broke up with someone. and here we are, 7 years from the attack and we still haven't moved on. folks, if you're going to preach something, make sure you follow [aka practice] what you preach.

everytime i hear the sept. 11, i'm like, we're still mourning?!

The Al Kaeda celebrate or laugh in your silences for the 9/11, every time you guys get upset about this it's another victory for the Al Kaeda... Why can't individuals mourn for their lost friends and family privately without the event?... Much more efficient that way...

You're mostly right, I think we give much more credit to the WTC attacks because of what if signified rather than the relatively small amount of deaths from the attack, though. Also, the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a provoke war attack, and the moral wounds between the two countries have healed; most feel that it's a very insensitive thing to bring up anymore. It was from a time I think we can all agree we would have rather not experienced. One last thing though, the last 16 words of your post are completely misinformed and likely swayed by conspirators. Still though, I don't think we need to keep kicking this 9/11 thing up once a year.

One reason that may cause it to be brought up constantly is the war we are currently in with Iraq. Since many ignorant people believe that ALL muslims/residents of the middle east are terrorist, they tend to bring up 9/11 as some kind of reason to dignify their ignorant acts. And it seems to spread daily, every day I hear more and more people discriminating against muslims and accusing them of terrorism.

The racism has been dissipating ever since it's "OMG TERRORIST" spike in 2001...

Indeed 9/11 is a grim event but I guess you should take solace in the fact that it's an eye opener to take airport security more seriously and events like these are a lesson to be learned.

  9. They also blame canada for the illegal immigrants going into the US
A very high percentage is actually mexico, not canada, that is the reason for illegal immigration

Oh good lord you are an idiot. I have never once heard of Canadians crossing the border, and I live near the border. "A very percentage is actually from Mexico"? No shit? Thanks for your insight!

Yeah that is pretty much the stupidest thing ive ever heard

It's all Mexico dude, nobody gives a shit about any immigrants coming from Canada, as if there even are any, Canadians dont have any reason to leave. Mexicans hate mexico cause its filled with mexicans so they want to come to White USA.

:D :D :D :D you make me laugh. i bet the turn up and go "ah shit there here to, damn you mexicans"

  13. I live near the border too, But the US tightened security much more on the canadian-american border than the mexican-american border

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Besides having even the citizens guarding the mexican border, even the legal entrance, mexicans are tracked... If they have a visa and enter the states too often, if they show any pattern, their visa is taken away for years at a time.

Bullshit. Post a legit source or shut up.

Actually, don't bother. This person disagrees with you and he's got pictures to show it. Compared to Mexico, US-Canadian borders are more like a revolving-door.

  16. Whatever, not worth even looking up the picture
the LEGAL mexicans are tracked, what about the ones that enter illegally, the ones that aren't tracked, and approximately only 1/3 are caught every year
on a similar topic, this video is pretty funny...

Yeah forget the barbed wire and electric fences patrolled by security, police, and military units. Canada and the US agreed to pull over ~1 in 800+ cars passing through the border to make sure they don't have dead bodies or a drug smuggle in the trunk. How dare they.
