Secrets of Hypnosis: A Whole Bunch of Crap.

I think hypnosis is just a sham.'

And a scam.

And it's shit.

No one has ever been able to hypnotize me.
I get up in the morning, my mind is 'clear', and no one can do it.

Even if I trust them.

WTF.

Tried hypnotizing someone else, a year ago.
When I had no idea how it works.

I practiced it for a week.
Still never worked.

I think it's a waste of time.

What do you think?

 

If people are weak willed they will easily be affected.

It exists and works if you think it exists and works. Otherwise it won't work. It's weird, but if you think it's real, then it is.

Well, no shit. Hypnotists practice for years, akin to magicians.

A lot of it has to do with deception and confusion techniques and a lot of understanding body language, I think Dan Brown (I forgot his name) has a few great examples of this. He got someone to give him their wallet and keys because he confused and used strange bady language patterns, he explained it all in his video, I'll find it.

 

Mental thoughts-you want it to work on you-it will.

And magicians are just good at slight of hand-they'd be the most awsome pick pockets if they didn't get all that cash from shows-they always get me each time XD

 

not everyone is capable of being hypnotize, i am one of them. A magician try to hypnotize me once and fail..... oddly it work on my friend, the magician claim that my mind is too stronge to be manipulated.

also you might not knowing it, you hypnotize yourself daily, reading a novel or comics, watching movie and playing games are example of self hypnotize.... oddly those self hypnotizing works......

 

Yeah, but I used that stupid hypnosis site to claim i teaches you in 3 days or less.
And I thought it would work, and a year/two years ago, I believed in that crap.
Like I said.
A WHOLE BUCNHA SHIT.

And self-hypnosis, is I think, real, because when you are watching something stupid on TV,
when the commercial starts and three minutes in, I forget what I was watching.
Then I have to think (HARD) to remember it.
Same thing with reading books, only if it's a good book, you don't remember when you started reading.

And like I am only addicted to video games and computers for a period of time,
like a few days to a month. Then I get tired of it, and quit.
Then I get a new hobby for another week~month, quit, and go back to an old hobby.
EXAMPLE: I stopped helping people as often in the Support part of the site.

I don't want some guy I barely know IN MY MIND! I wanted to the first time, but after a 'hypnotist' tried to hypnotize me, I thought it was bull, and it still is.

And I used to be sleight of hand, I could pickpocket the right card outta my friends pocket, when I wanted to perform fake magic when it was cool in school.*COUGH* second grade...

That's how I ALWAYS catch magicians doing a double cut, or a forced hand. I spoil it for everyone. Then I stopped going to magic stuff altogether in fourth grade. Now I can't even do that ball through cup trick or whatever.

 

As a preface to this post, this is by no means an attempt to insult or take down Seph's mother by a peg. I'm certain Seph's mom is a wonderful person, and that's all I'm going to say about her.

People make a living off Feng Shui too, based on some conceived, twisted idea that Feng Shui is a science.

Speaking of Penn and Teller, they also did a segment on Hypnosis featured on 'Bullshit!'.

 

As much as I normally agree with Hypr, I have to speak from experience here. It is perfectly possible to hypnotise someone - or rather, put them in a highly suggestive state. I've done so, and I believe there's still a bit of a subliminal imprint left in her subconscious because of it. I won't go into details here, but I believe I've told Natalie.

tl;dr It worked for me.

Also, Feng Shui is garbage, but in its simplest form it works off the premise that you'll be happier if your furniture is arranged in an aesthetically pleasing setup (which is true). Everything else is just plain wrong.

 

1.Obviously a scam-durr mate.

That is BS.

It could take years to learn-not 3 days.

2.Not so easy for everyone to do-people are weak minded.

And btw-your not addicted-you sound like my brother-you have a short attention span.

3.I aim to educate-wether or not I actually help people out is for those people to learn how to ask correctly and or try looking around-most questions I helped are, infact, already posted a million times.

But I have helped-and it's this fact that drives me.

Maybe someone can hypnotize me to stop being grouchy...

 

@mikeac, The website you mention is a scam, that does not mean hypnosis is also a scam. It takes a few hours to learn the basic techniques but many years to master it. Anyone can be hypnotised, for some people it can take some time for others it can be very quick. Those who claim to have a strong will are the easiest to hypnotise as they tend to have good focus. Personally I have hypnotised many people over the years, I am not a clinically trained hypnotist but learned the techniques through performance/stage hypnotism. Some stage hypnotists use stooges in their shows but none of the stage hypnotists who I have met require stooges, it is really not a difficult thing to learn if you are willing to put the time into learning it properly.

 

hypnosis is real and not real depending how you look at it.

it's really just the power of suggestion you don't actually go in to a trance you are till in control you just get manipulated in to thinking your in a trance and what the person is saying.
it's all in derren browns book and he explains what he does on stage.

 

You may be correct, or possibly not. The jury is still out on that question.
