Screen Freezes in Pokemon HGSS

I just downloaded and played Pokemon Heart Gold. I have problems with the screen freezing every now and then more oftenly with this game. I am wondering if it's my memory catridge's problem. I use an old R4, but my NDSlite is new.

 

It's anti-piracy. If you are using the original R4, then use WoodR4. It's better and you can play HG/SS perfectly without freezing issues.

so I simply replace the DS_MENU.DAT from woodR4 into the original DS_MENU.DAT right?

 

And the other files and place the _rpg folder in the root of your MSD.

 

I only have that file and the rpg folder in the rar I downloaded. Is there supposed to be some other files besides those two?

Should come with WoodR4 v1.10

And both should be placed on a clean formatted MicroSD chip, Backup games and saves befor dowing so!

You can make a new Games (folder) if you wish and put your games into it
