I was reading that you can fix it with toothpaste:

    Clean! Nintendo DS

Does your DS crave to be cleaned? Is your touch screen full of scratches, thin or thick? Then read on to find out how to get rid of those scratches..

This method has been tested to work multiple times
If you do not want to risk breaking your Nintendo DS, simply do not attempt to clean it, but this is a tried and tested way that will not damage your DS.

    The Vital Ingredients

To clean your DS you will need the following:

One Nintendo DS with a scratched touch screen
    Tissues
    A q-tip/ear bud
    ...Toothpaste!

That's right, toothpaste. The toothpaste contains fine particles, which is what will make your DS screen shine.

Place a very small dab of toothpaste onto your touch screen. The brand of the toothpaste doesn't really matter, as it is what inside it that counts.

Spread the toothpaste securely onto the DS screen with a q-tip/ear bud - try not to go to near to the edges or it will be hard to rub off.

Now leave it for a minute to dry...

Rub away at your screen with tissues. Be sure to rub thoroughly or the process may not work to it's best

Now look at that touch screen sparkle and shine.
That's a genuine photo; no Photoshop edits.

You may still see a few small scratches, but you will notice that the majority of your scratches have disappeared like magic. Why not give it a try?

Does this work or does anyone know any other solutions.

does it not muck up the screen and make the touch screen less sensitive?

I was wondering, does your DS smell of toothpaste?

Not if you wipe it down, with a warm wet towel.
