(This is mainly for those who have experienced sciatica/pseudo sciatica, or a doctor)
Yesterday I woke up with a dull pain in my lower back and inside part of my legs (only above the knee). After some research, I found out that I could have sciatica or pseudo sciatica. I read the possible causes, and poor posture stuck out in my mind. When I'm on the computer at home, because I don't have a desk, I just sit on my bed. Sometimes I sit cross-legged, other times having one knee up and resting my chin on it, and still others with my back against the wall/head of my bed. Can anyone confirm just from postulating about it if this is sciatica or pseudo sciatica?

If it is either of them, what are some types of home remedies I could do? I've read about sleeping in pretty much the fetal position, dangling one leg off the bed and stretching to touch the other, and using a towel as resistance, then moving my legs up and across. Any other suggestions?

Never use the internet to try and diagnose your medical condition, ever.

Do some stretching/exercise after being in a certain pose for too long.
You could use some muscle pain relief ointment sold at the general drug store.
Also, could do with plenty of plain water. Better yet, get a proper place to use your computer!
Like buy a desk or make one if you don't have any.

But I do agree with Sylar, asking here isn't an appropriate place.
You could get all sort of misleading suggestions from 'noobs'.
Best is this, if after doing the above harmless solution doesn't help,
and the pain prolongs immediately consult your family physician.

Are you one of those prec ;)
But yeah, a doctor might be the way to go. Get some aspirin or something for the time being.

Well, after managing to finally get some sleep, this morning I woke up after sleeping in the fetal position, and felt fine for the most part. Not gonna make a 100% judgement until tomorrow, though, just in case it comes back.

Best advice I can give, go look at Computer Health and Safety.
It contains advice on how to reduce health risks while using a computer.
Generally, sitting on your bed using a computer is not good for you.

Also, go see a doctor and explain the whole situation. If it is a back problem, make sure you get treatment as you do not want it to get worse.
