Saving the Game

hey i recently downloaded pokemon pearl and diamon only i have been playing pearl. no i managed to save the game one time time but now every time i save it doesnt record the data at all it just restars from where i had saved before. I have tried right clicking then using save state which is how i managed to save the first time. I hve tried this again many times and it doesnt work. any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I use the No$ emulator if that helps any. please hurry and reply I don't want to have the emulator on nonstop so i dont lose my place in the game.
