how do you add a sav file to an r4? thanks

 

The R4 will automatically create the save file when you first start the game.

If you have an existing save file from another card, or from an emulator, you will need to convert it using http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php and then put it on your card.

 

Not automatically, a function will come up asking you to create the save file when it can't locate it in FAT itself.

 

no when your adding someone else's sav. i got one from gbatemp but i dont know where im meant to add it, its not a file just a load of letters and numbers

 

Do you know what save format the file you downloaded is in? Because first off, you need to convert the file to R4 format, if it isn't already in an R4 format. Use the link that Tirith posted above in order to do this, if necessary.

After that, all you need to do is make sure that the game file name matches save file name, for example, if your game file is called 'gamefile1.nds', your save file needs to be called 'gamefile1.sav'
