Ok so my computer is running low on space and I need to delete stuff and thats mostly videos and old files I no longer need, but any of you have any tips on how I can save up more space on my computer without getting rid of my video's and music?

I know Defragmenting is one way, but what other ways are there?

Also, I came across this link
    http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/top-free-file-hosts/
for storing my files online, but is it a good idea to store my videos on these sites? and have any of you ever stored files on a site for saving up space?

    Thanks in advance.

How about buying an external harddrive to keep your videos and music?

Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup

It will delete temporary internet files, installation files that aren't needed, etc, etc, but ultimately, it'll compress files that haven't been touched for a while.

If you really want to have more space without deleting any of your files, buying a new hard disk or external is your only option.

You can only gain little space by cleaning the disk.

Well it is space at the end of the day, I have a 32.7gb hard drive and I compressed over 1.5gb of files.

Taking into account that I only use 15gb of my hard drive. I have deleting spree's. When I finish my deleting spree, I'm usually using 10gb.

But compressing the drvie means games may not work so well. thus an external drive is good.

    With a 500gb, and 2 1TB drives, space sisn't a problem, I only use 50% of my laptop's built in 250gb drive ;D

Download CrapCleaner, it removes programs you don't really want. You choose what you want to remove.

Also, to speed it up, you can download a crack for Advanced SystemCare.

I suggest backing up EVERYTHING on dvd/cds

i do this all the time, especially with my uploads and downloads as well.

i wouldn't want to download Dead Space Extraction again.....that took forever to get.

I have burned over 50 data dvds and over 100 data cds.

    Win. Seriously.
If you do that you can label everything so its easy to find. I keep all my anime/videos/books on DVD. You really only need to keep the stuff you use daily/weekly.

Disk Cleanup only compresses them until they are used again, when they are re-used then they become uncompressed and work just as normal :)

Write you need to seriously get tuneup utilities 2010 in your life! It got rid of 20gb of my hardrive space! I too was in te same position as you! Theres also thousands of keygens for it to get the full version FREE!

As well as it making room on your hardrive you can:
    Change Login Screen
    Change Bootup Screen + Logo
    Change Style
    And Much More!

if you're using NTFS, enable disk compression.

    Don't do this..

Links die, and the fact that you have to use bandwidth to get them again is annoying.

A portable hard drive-or even burning them to cd's-are a better option, online storage is for sharing, not for personal use...
