Yes I used to have it, it came in this huge pack, forgot where I got it though.. It wasn't the pack that installs itself onto your computer, just the rar files that comes with heaps.

Royal Noir is the theme for Media Center PCs I think. I have it on my computer. Some parts don't work, but it still looks great.

Googling 'windows XP themes' should find loads of sites, just watch out for the themes that require third party applications (i.e windowsblinds)

Oh yeah, that thing screwed up my computer and I had to use System Restore to get it back to the way it was. :-\

anyway, i use the "Royale" normal theme because i'm sick of that windows xp "fisher price" theme. the noir version was home-made, most likely with window blinds (a brilliant theme creator program, well worth the $40 odd dollars they charge for it). you should try that. grab the standard "royale" theme and justde-saturate all the bue to make it black

anyways, sorry for bringing back an old topic

I couldn't stand windows blinds, it slowed down my machine horribly.

I'm sorry to revive this old topic but only noticed it now. Wow, this looks beautiful. :)

Only revive a topic if you have something meaningful to say. "Wow, this looks beautiful" does not count.

Why use Window Blinds? You can just download and use it as a standard windows theme, in standard Royale (as I am) or Royale Noir.

Yes, but a lot of websites tell people to get Window Blinds to install themes.

Thats why it is difficult to find good themes. I can never find a good site. After I see like ten or twelve with windows blinds I give up.

I just use the patched uxtheme.dll so I can install "homemade" Visual Styles. If you want some decent looking visual styles go to deviantart or customize.org and view the selection there. I don't like installing another app just to make my OS look better. They slow the shit out of my computer and are a pain to uninstall. I'm talking to you, WindowBlinds/theming software/docks.

I use a "hacked version" of StyleXP so no trial period (but sadly I lost the cd I stored it in). And AFAIK, WindowBlinds and StyleXP are different.

I have this theme called "Royale Remixed" or something, which has the Royale Theme from XP Media Center, the Royale Zune (orange taskbar, black color over-all) and of course Royale Noir (not the real one, though it has a black start button that turns blue and has a good wallpaper). And you'll need StyleXP, for those interested I'll just find a place to upload the theme since the odds of me stumbling on it again are very slim.

The easiest way is to download the uxtheme.dll auto patcher
make sure you get the right one for your service pack though (windows operating system of course)

Search for the uxtheme.dll autopatcher on http://www.softpedia.com/
