    Romulation Shop Update

You know what separates us from all the other emulator or ROM sites? It's because we all know each other as a community, and we trust each other too.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been here for about a week and when I think of Romulation I know the names of so many of the people here, Winterreise, Moderasian, Jhon971, Natewlie, Seph (OF COURSE), Loonylion, Cahos Rehne ----(forgot)----, Anandjones, Reider, Hypnos, Remnoca and Kiekos, and many more. (Forgive me for spelling errors as this is all from the top of my head).

My point is, is that there is a relationship between everyone in some way, I know Jhon971 for being good at technical stuff, Natewlie for always posting where the discussion gets interesting, Moderasian for just being asian.

In my opinion I beleive that Romulation has A LOT of potential, and I think that the store is lacking products. Why couldn't the shop sell high quality flashcards such as the acekard etc.. Or anything else to do with the consoles on the download section.. I KNOW there are many other sites that sell them, but here WE (The whole of the Romulation Community) can sell our 2ND hand ones, for example.. I really need to get rid of my Acekard2i because my DSi was stolen two weeks ago.

I'd be willing to sell it for super cheap, with a free 2Gig Micro SD as well. I also want to get rid of my N64 and SNES since I have no use for them anymore. We'd be helping the whole Romulation community instead of people that we've never met on eBay or Amazon..

This could be rethought and updated so we can have our own little marketplace, this could attract A LOT of members and potential buyers to Romulation.

    RomUlation isn't a marketplace.

A Buy/Sell/Trade section could work in your situation. All that would be needed is a board that allows people to trade/sell or request to buy something that they've always wanted.

You could set up an e-bay or Amazon account I guess.

But the revenue could help the site expend...that and instead of throwing people all over, and those said people buying dodgy products, why not have them here?

We sell microsoft points, so flash carts (if allowed legally) could help.

But personally, more clothing options like wrist bands and hats I'm waiting for :)

...the micro Sd card idea ain't bad ethier, if this site get's them in 16GB, I'd buy 4 XD (that'll be legal at least, but would the cost be cheap is the question...)

We tend to throw those in the trading board along with the roms XD

I tried to sell a few things...not that anyone wanted metal gear solid :(

I think the site is pretty fine right now and Seph has a lot of money, don't you think having RomU as part marketplace would make it more likely for a company to such as EA to target it, don't you think?

Not RomU as a company, Seph or any of the crew wouldn't be directly related in funding the marketplace.. But for it to have a marketplace possibly a sub-forum, where members can sell anything videogame related would work.

Well that's why I considered if flash carts would be safe or not.

But micro sd cards won't be since they don't have any data...they work one phones as you must know.

And in australia (not sure about where Seph is in Denmark) it's legal to sell flash carts as long as no software is provided, since they can be used to play music and movies.

That's how we get away with it XD

Besides, wouldn't we just stop hosting EA games altogether, most are rubbish, and thing is...I could dump a few and post in trading board (or download from other sorces)...

I' just throwing in my 2 cents, unless Seph or loonylion comes by, who know's how good this idea is.

But what if a member screwed over another or what if this caught the attention of ESA or somebody that you're selling illegal items too. Flashcarts aren't exactly legal.

In this case, people (as I stated before) post thigs they'd like to sell in trading board.

There is a post about a 120GB ps3 for sale, and I posted one about selling some metal gear solid games.

Doesn't have to be just roms :)

But I'm thinking about ideas for the romUlation shop seeing as it only holds 2 items.

ALSO, members could also require a certain rank to sell products, such as Retro Gamer, but to purchase you can be at any rank.

It depends, as I said, it's legal in australia as long as NO software is included.

If it's legal in Denmark, and further research is carried out, prehaps they could be sold...or just micro sd cards which I'm sure are legal if sold without flash carts :)

But any one of use can bs our way, I do advise selling face to face rather than over the mail.

That's true, but a solution to that is confirm that you guys want to make a deal and do it over eBay. That way we are only handling the deal and not the purchase itself, eBay can't be BS'ed mate. :)

On a site called Thepurplecube that I'm on we have never had any problems when Trading/Buying/Selling. I reccomend if something like a Buy/Sell/Trade section was to go up that members should have at least 300 posts and then they can trade/buy/sell whaever they want....Until it's not porn etc.

People on Thepurplecube have been able to sell products like Flashcarts, game console, games etc. As I've said we've never had any problems before.

If done via pay pal you can get insurance...up to a certain amount.

If your gonna sell like this, FACE TO FACE is the safest option ,physically LOOK at the item, play it, then pay with real cash.

It's risky enough seling/buying stuff on ebay, let alone romU members (if you think about it...we are pirates here...who know's what some of us can do :( )

Would you like to offer some insight on that?

My friend was like ":O Cyclo DS for 3 quid 49p?!"
So he bought it, he only got the box.

You can get a refund from eBay as long as you have proof.
