romulation psx roms

is there a specific firmware to run the psx games downloaded from here?

like for example..

i have "the legend of dragoon" downloaded from another site and it works on my psp but when i downloaded "dragon valor disc 1 and 2" it won't play.

i put them in psp/games/xx (xx is the name of the game)
but when i click on the game and it says corrupted file.

I think i know what you have done...


You need custome firmware (latest-m33v6 is advised, or that CFW enabler thing ) on your psp, and the games need to be converted to run on the psp...


The psx ISO's (not roms-roms are cartridges like the old nintendo ones) need to be converted to work-otherwise your wasting time...



You haven't mentioned it, so I'm guessing your using them


-Possible still zipped (in rar format) so unzip them using winrar or 7-zip

-Still in playstation iso format-convert them to eboot, add your pics and music if you want/need, then place the folder into the psp/game folder

-Did something wrong during the conversion (if you did-though I have no clue if you have)

-Have not custom firmware enabled...


Please give us the details on the iso (what format are the contents of the stuff you tried to play), the psp's firmware AND type (1000, 2000, etc), what conversion programs you used to even try to play it, and if you extracted them...



Yes I'm aware I repeated myself several times-it's just to make sure ok gotta give more info and know what to do-that's how school works, drumming it in repeatedly until it's stuck

ok.. as you can tell. i'm new at this.

i have a 1000 model. to be exact it says psp1001

i extracted the files using winrar.
they are image files... well lets put it this way. i didn't convert them..
i have popstation but i didn't use it to convert.

my firmware is m33u

ok so conversion tools..
which converter if not popstation because the popstation i have. it says you need some user's version of firmware or something like that to play.

i'm converting using psx2psp v 1.3

i converted it under psx2psp and added a key.bin file and it works.
