Is it normal for some roms to sound static like? I just noticed after adjusting my sound on my DS emulator.

Go into the Emulation Options and change the sound quality setting higher.

It's in Digital Stereo and Best Quality of I believe 44hz or something like...

Try Digital Mono, also how fast is your computer?

Actually anand, some DS games really sound awful on no$gba, because these games rely on the actual NDS-9 BIOS file for sound decoding, if that's the correct term.

I know, some DS games sound horrible on real DS hardware, but emulator BIOS aren't that too good anyway. ARM 7 actually addresses the sound channels.

Some games just sound crappy on no$, I have a few back here, don't know exactly which though. Even if the game is running at 100%, it is crappy.

My computer or should I say Laptop is 2 years old. So it isn't as fast as some of you guys. I am running Windows XP SP 3, 512MB ram (I know I need way more...) and my Processor speed is like 1.6 GHZ far less than I wanted....But I can't complain simply because I play Ragnarok Online on a P-Server and don't really care for many new MMO's...On top of that I can only play games when I have the time anyway.

-Also, this was a "christmas gift" during the Black Friday at a Circuit City and the Laptop was dropped from like I don't remember but it was high enough to like $300 for that day only.

It might also be the laptop, as it is known that laptops don't have a sound system as powerful as a desktop computer. Also, if the ROM is running at less than 100% speed, the sound might be bad. What's the ROM you're trying to play?

Luminous Arc. I have the ROM fps at like 30 or something...Should I change it?

Oh and I use a program called NDS2xGL2. It's helps magnify the program so you can see it better. Is there a better one than the one I'm currently using and could it be causing my sound to be distorted some what?

I would say it's the magnifier itself that could cause it, not sure though, try playing the game without using the magnifier. I donwloaded Luminous Arc, played for a while, finished a battle, the only "static" sound I found was in the voices outside of battles, but the rest was just perfect. Give it a shot without the magnifier.

That's where I have the static sound is in the voice overs. But I think I might be able to manage with out the magnifier.

But it's not much, just a tiny bit.

So you do play without the magnifier? If anything I'll do that.

Don't use the addons, it's usually much slower than no$gba itself, so use it by itself. Your laptop should be fast enough.

Thank you. I will do that...I'll just have to un-install it somehow.

It's just removing the files you put there, I tried using no$gba 2.6x, it was just copy pasting, so I just deleted the files, no need to uninstall anything. Just delete it. :)

I couldn't remember which files were what because of what was added...I don't mind starting over the games anyway. I do it all the time. Sometimes if it's been tooooooo long since I've played and I can't remember, I just start a new file until I reach that same point again and save in a different slot or over it. My ex-boyfriend can tell you if I messed up in a RPG like especially leveling and getting gears I will start over because either I missed something over I'm too frustrated to continue.

You should still be able to continue on an addon and nonaddon, since it's an addon, it doesn't change the save writing.
