ROM Help

Hi everyone, great site, with a seemingly good community. However i am having some pretty major problems. I am using an cyclo ds evolution and have downloaded several ds roms. However the vast majority are simply not working, these include - Space Invaders Extreme, Sight Training, Bangai-O-Spirits and The World Ends With You (i know this ROM can be a bit tricky). When any of the games mentioned above try to load, they just stop about 2 seconds into loading with either two black screens on the ds, two white screens on the ds or a combination of both. I am a bit of a newbie and am wondering if i am doing something wrong. I download the rom (some originate from Japan but even the above mentioned European options are still not working), extract it with winrar and then drag and drop the file into my games file on the cyclo ds, as i have done from other sites in the past with no problem. In fact i have downloaded about 7 games and the only one which has worked is Drawn-to-life. Could somebody please help and thanks for the good work thus far...

 

You will need to update your firmware to the latest by clicking Linfox Domain in my sig. The last firmware changelog fixes two or three game compatibility problems or so, so this should fix your problem.

 

Thanks anandjones, i upgraded my cyclo ds firmware and the majority of the roms now work - the only one that dosnt play is The World Ends With You (but i know this can be tempermental). Thankyou very much for your help... ;D

 

Hey there. I'm havin a similar problem on my R4DS quite a few new games, bangai-o being the only one I can name off the top of my head, are refusing to work. giving me a cannot find save file error from the game itself. is there a quick fix for this? I've tried updating firmware, but no dice.

 

You will probaly just don't created a .sav file. the r4 asks before you start the game for the first time if it would like to create a sav file, you probaly hitted b instead of a

 

Actually, it asks you to create the .sav file on the GUI when you're about to load it, maybe that's what you meant.

 

i cant download roms to my r4 and i updated the firmware and it says it cant play the game. can someone please help me?

 

Are you sure you have the latest 1.18? Check on the GUI, so load up the R4. Should say it on a screen somewhere. Did you extract it, so you got the .nds extension?
