Rockman.EXE Operate Shooting Star (J) Patch

Humm... so I found this link on 2chan about the patch for Rockman Arena and one step Mettaur encounter and it has 2 lines of codes...

Yep, the rom needs hex editing... here are the steps:

1. Download and extract the rom from RomU so you have the clean rom. (Keep the rar in case you messed up with something)

2. Google and download a hex editing program such as XVI32.

3. Run the program and click File > Open and search for the rom.

4. Then click Address > Goto on the toolbar, click the hexadecimal and put $465199 on the box and click OK. Then the box with 0C in it should be highlighted.

5. Click Edit > Overwrite String, click the Hex string and put 36 on the box, click OK.

6. Now for the second code, click Address > Goto on the toolbar, click the hexadecimal and put $4652F4 on the box and click OK. This time, the box with 10 in it should be highlighted.

7. Then click Edit > Overwrite String, click the Hex string and put 11 on the box, click OK.

8. Click File > Save and put the rom into your flashcart. Have fun

 

Did anyone tested if it works?


Also. It fix the folder?

Not likely is hard to beat that game with the basic folder, I just wanna know.

 

Tested and working on R4DS v1.18. I can switch chips from the folder, no crazy encounters, and the arena is accessible.
It somehow won't load on my YSMenu though... dunno why.

Oh, and guys at GBAtemp has confirmed this too. They also have the ips patch for the lazy ones.

And someone has uploaded the patched rom...

dude i did every thing you said from this guide and when i turn my R4 and click on the game i just get a white screen plz help me im relly mad about this i thought this relly work but up to know i just get the white screen ???

 

You did something wrong with it. And probably you use a R4 clone, which I haven't tested to work. Try to download the prepatched rom and see if it works (Although they use the same way of patching).

I don't think you can charge in MMBN1... I don't remember.

New AKAIO loaders for the AceKard fix this also.

 

Humm... since this game is basically a remake of MMBN and I believe MMBN can't change mega buster so... *checks out GameFAQs*

It will work.
The same happened with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and some other games.

 

people if you wanna charge whit the mega buster you gotta buy the charge just like in mmbn 1. hope that helps you guys

It does not work in NO$GBA 2.6a. After I edit it and save, the problem isn't solved. The patch did not work too.

 

Have firmware.bin in your no$gba folder to fix this problem.

 

You have to upgrade your megabuster a little later in the game. Remembered after playing through it.
