When I download snes roms from romulation.net I get multiple copies of the same rom packaged such as : Rock N' Roll Racing (U) [t1].smc Rock N' Roll Racing (U) [hI].smc Rock N' Roll Racing (U) [f1].smc Every rom packaged got similar but diferent such notes at the end of them. What are they and in general wich version would the best ?
[t] is a translation-followed by a few letter of another ie "fre" for french. If your an english speaker/reader [E] or followed by [!] or just ! works. E and U are english regions-E for europian regions (UK Australia, etc and U is american. Use the one's with [t] if you use other languages.
Thanx a lot for the info ! So I want to play (U) english versions so I'll go for the [E] or ! versions. In Rock' N' Roll Racing download there are no [E] or !, but there is a plain (U).smc version so I guees I would go for that one. Then what would [hI] or [f1] means ? some other translation ? [f1] for a french translation ? Thanx again for the help it is much appreciated and saves me the time of going through every single version and check the diffrences.
Some are beta and test files of the same game. (U) and (E) are only different in region content... The (U) or super metoid had japanese and english language select-but the (E) has german instead of jap.. Usually, the best to choose is the (U)! or (E)!. The (!) at the end just defines it as the perfect dump. (t) with a letter after defines it as translation-the number next to the letter is what version of it. (f1) is the first french traslation. (b1) is a beta-previously un-released-may have beta test options in some games-like a cheat menu with exclusive stuff XD Some game sthough. Stick to those which have ! after the main letter.
