OK, so the Pink Army & LittleKillism groups showed us how to abuse grouping rights so to speak. But this time around I just want to suggest these two groups: Retro Gamers Next Gen Gamers Simply to make a statement that you either like Retro gaming which are Stuff from the Dreamcast era & below or Next Gen gaming which includes everything from the PS2 & onwards including current Gen stuff. If you're wondering why my criterion for Retro gaming stops at the DreamCast era, it is because the Gamecube, the PS2 & the GBA are still relatively current gen. These titles used to be post rank titles, but this time around I'm just suggesting them just so people can easily determine if you are a Retro gamer or a Next Gen gamer so that it'd be easier to find people who may share the same passion as you did for a particular gaming era. And no, you do not earn elitist privileges if you join either side You're simply telling everyone your console & gaming preferences so there will be no, or rather there shouldn't be any rivalries between the two.
But then the admins would have to configure the settings for that specific group such as the availability of a certain section, privileges to post in a certain section, use of special functions such as spoilers, etc.
...not only what blood said, but there is no middle ground for people who respect retro (having grown up with it) but play next gen. It's just gonna cause people nagging at each other...and the fact is, alot of people will be next gen, most came for the ds games you know.
I don't consider the Dreamcast as a retro system as it released 1 year prior to PS2 it just seems current gen to me still, course going by the kids anything that is as older than they are is retro, old skool, or whatever terms they use now...anyway I would gladly take a "Retro Gamer" title.
It will only cause rivalries if you as a member of a group will do what the old Pink Army & LittleKillism groups did & that's to start a rivalry to begin with. If you just treat it as a label of which gaming era you consider yourself to belong to & be quiet about it then things will work out. I guess you're right. Well, how about this. Naming the group by bit era, say "8-Bit Guru", or "128bit Tanker"? And I just had to quote boss man's post on the custom titles thread. So yeah, failed idea I guess.
i dont giving the groups more relevant names would stop the faggotry, for lack of a better word, terrible idea imo.
Im up for anything to do with retro games, I would like a retro section but I doubt its gonna happen. I would choose retro gamer obviously but the whole LK vs PA thing did get a bit stupid.
