Re: Major virus alert. Can't even run SpyBot. That is what it does. You probably went to a site that said your computer was infected and you need to download their software. Try looking through your software and trying to find some program that wasn't there before. Either that or try downloading avast antivirus and doing a boot-time scan.

That bugger was annoying, had to go from computer to computer, but for now it's gone. Thank you, gentlemen.
scareware always is. the last one I had to deal with was internet antivirus, and no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of it entirely (the owner didnt want the computer reformatted). I was rather relieved when his hard disk crapped out and had to be replaced.
