I was recently given a PC with Windows 98 installed.
It boots normally, but when I log in, it has tons of dll and operation errors.
So, I have decided to replace 98 with a distro of Linux, but I can't find one that has low enough requirements for this PC... Which distro is best for me...

    it's specs are:
    Win 98
    400MHZ processor
    128MB ram
not sure about anything else... It won't let me use the mouse because the only mouse I have is a USB, and it keeps saying the I am required to use the Mouse port on the back of the computer...

alright thanks loony... I actually meant to edit my post, a friend of mine gave me a CD with Damn Small Linux on it, but since it's only a live CD, I can still check out slackware

I know it's Linux... it was a typo... tried both Ubuntu and OpenSUSE, neither worked, so now I'm using DSL temporarily

have you tried fedora. I doubt the newest one(fedora 11) would work for you. but maybe one of the older ones, slackware is always good, if none of those work DSL is always nice. Any of those "mainstream" Linux distros like Ubuntu OpenSUSE and Debian wont on a computer that slow :p

It would help to know what you plan to do with this computer.

like web browsing or programming or working with media.
