    Here's what happened:

I inserted my Flash Drive into another computer, then I waited for it to appear on "My Computer". After it was done installing itself, the USB icon appeared, but it suddenly disappeared then re-appeared  , I double-clicked the icon but the message:

"Please insert a disk into drive F: " appeared.

I went to "Properties" and saw that the capacity has turned 0 bytes.

    - Was it caused by a virus or something?

Remove and reinsert. If that fails, try another computer. If that fails, try formatting it.

Just tried it on twelve other computers even my own and they won't let me format the disk, here's the message:

"There is no disk in Drive F:"
"Insert a disk, and try again" ???

Man, and it was so sudden.
Even one of my classmates who put his flash drive in the same PC just went and died, I mean the flash drive.

It was a new purchase btw. Now I got to buy a new one.

    EDIT:

Is a virus capable of doing that kind of thing, "killing" the flash drive?

no, more likely its a faulty USB port.

hm, i got a experience of something like a virus for the usb. Well, the computer can read the flashdisk contents, but you need to use the autoplay option. ( its the plug then choose the option ) but if you tried opening it in the my computer, it will say, pls insert the flashdisk which is already plug in.

i think i got the virus from a flashdisk of a classmate, since then, i dont let anyone touch my netbook/laptop without checking for viruses first, even if it has loads of files.

It is not functional anymore. :(
    The capacity is 0 bytes.

-Although it installed itself all over again when I put it in my own PC which of course should have recognized that the Flash Drive's software is already installed.

what a waste of 4GB. is it still under warranty? if it is, get it exchange/fixed, but if its not, damn.
Hope nothing important is in that thing.

From what I have heard-someone did create a virus that kills hard drives.

The FBI went straight down-first virus to affect hardware rather than software.

It speed up the drive-causing over heat and failure.

I'd hate to have that thing spread.

Well anyway I doubt it-it never got out from where ever it came from (china or america).

Well I heard it from the guy who has been fixing me and my mother's pc's for awhile...and has always found our viruses :)

If anything he may have done it lol!

If I knew the full details I would have said-believe or not-I just took his word for it...

I think it's possible-some script that forces to make the hard drive work harder-sure you may have some reason as to why it can't-but hay I'm not dissing a guy paid to remove viruses.

And always does ours for free :)

Well now we all know that if we find this virus, our computers are going to start smoking and becoming a fireball. GREAT! But it would be funnier than an infinite bootloop, and also more annoying. Sorry for your loss of removeable disk though, hope you get a new on that wont fry.
