Something really weird is going on the Forums. Basically, I'm running Firefox, and whenever I post on a topic, my Forum settings redirect me to the posted topic. Then when I click the board link that the topic I posted in, I come to the index of it, and the topic doesn't say I posted in it, it doesn't change a bit. So I go back to it, post again, but then I get a New Reply warning, the new reply was from me previously. I click the Forum Index, the latest topic for boards remain unchanged. It was just working before in Gaming Lounge. I have already cleared everything, cache, even cookies etc. Still doesn't work. I'm going to restart my browser, see if that works. Oh, and this doesn't happen on other forums, I just browsed some PALib topics on the PALib forum, then click the index, it shows that I have browsed the topic.

i remember IE having something to do with the cache settings about "update everytime i see the web page," "update automatically," "update only once," etc.

try seeing if firefox has something similar.

Well, the Forum Index doesn't update or reload properly, but if I go into the board, it updates. I'm unsure whether Firefox has that option, but this doesn't happen to other sites, only RomUlation, so I'm not too sure.

It has something to do with the offline storage part in the advanced tab, under network.

what it does, is that its loading a previously saved state from the cache without the need to update.

i would try to put the cache at 0 so it always has to load a new state from the site, but your pages will load slower since it isn't using the cache to load parts of the page.

No the forum does caching to spare the server from constantly having to fetch the latest topics. When a topic/reply is then posted it might take a few moments to update with the latest info.

This process of topic/post updating happens fairly fast for me (Fire Fox 3 user also). The forum informs me if there is a new post/topic in just seconds as soon as I click on "Home", but the longest interval (if there are a lot of active people) was a minute, still pretty fast.
