Registry Compactors

    After recently discovering that registry cleaners do nearly nothing to speed up your system but instead potentially remove needed registries, I've turned my head to Compactors. Can someone tell me the best free Registry Compactor out there? I've been thinking of http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

    dont. Registry cleaning is safe if you use a decent cleaner, registry compacting is not.

    Registry cleaning can speed up your system but only if your registry has tens of thousands of unneeded keys.

    Thats what I read. So, is there any good Registry Cleaner?

    jv16 power tools version 1.3 (get it from www.oldversion.com) Its not so much the performance benefits but the potential stability issues that could eventually occur if you dont do it.

    newer version is entirely different and is no longer free.

    Ccleaner is also a good choice I think as I also use it once every month to clean up stuff, especially after those Windows Updates that leave old versions of Registry keys after the update installations.
