When i first join romulation, the download speed is fast enough (about 20-40 kbps using my internet provider). But now, the maximum amount is about 15 kbps. I try downloading something else from other site, and i still get about 20-40 kbps (40 is maximum amount allowed by my provider), so I guess there's no problem with my connection. Is there a reduction of download speed? Post Merge: [time]1272306279[/time] Never mind. I just look for other thread, and found out that it's because i download from europe server now, which is very slow. Back then, i might have DL it from US server. Sorry for the intrusion.
Also our EU server is experiencing above normal loads due to problems with the US server. We're working on it.
The US server is down. Thus, there is more traffic on the EU server. Thus, making downloads slower for free users.
14kb/sec is extremely low, I get 250kb/s and I'm in Europe! If I use a download manager to open multiple connections it easily reaches 800 kb/s. That said, the US server is still not performing optimally and we've pretty much tried everything so far. We've been unable to isolate the cause of it sadly. =/
im downloading now off the euro server its around 14kb/sec occasionally goes up to 40 or 50 then back down again. its been going around 3 hours and is 63%, im using free download manager because my first attempt stopped at 51% normally i get over 100kb/s and can be as high as 200
Uh. Europe server gives me 2.5MB/sec over wireless, more if I go wired. What do you get from the US server?
msg i get a max of 6 KB/s too, but if you are using a dial-up connection 6KB/s is the max you are going to get
140kb/s this morning its a different game, thats the only difference but i cant see that been the problem. it was moto racer world tour on psx if anyone wants to try it computers baffle me
I cannot really use this data unless you compare your RomUlation speed to a speedtest.net test (from the proper location)
AHA. This makes sense. You are using mobile broadband, which is not capable of very high speeds, and the speed you get is heavily dependent on how many other people are on that 'cell' (transmission tower) at the same time. You are almost always going to see massive variations in speed; that's just the nature of the beast I'm afraid.
Okay, either way, if u have a super fast connection, the limit only kicks in seconds after it starts. So you can have a faster speed for a few seconds.
Or your ISP giving you a brief burst. But that's really not possible with mobile internet as the limit is often defined by the reception your phone gets.
It's just you, the minimum I got here is 35kbps, my internet connection is via Radio, the max speed is 600kbps, so the download rate is around 70kbps here.
