Title says it all people.. I have homebrew on my wii and I bought redtseel 2 and it wont allow me to play unless i update my wii, but I believe I need starptch to stop the updates? well, I never done this before and I'm hoping someone here can guide me since I MIGHT ACTUALLY BRICK ME Wii this time... so anyone here have any step by step guide on how to get around the forced update from nintendo? I don't want to brick my wii and please make it easy to understand for a idiot like me and thoes few on here that might be in my position. Thanks in advance! and i'm off to google for an answer while I leave this question incase I fail to find a answer.
Try the Wii Brick Blocker in my Soft-Mod Information Thread. After you patch it, then burn it. It should take care of the update partition. If it doesn't let me know and I can give you WiiScrubber to get rid of the update.
wait? do you mean to patch my actual game I bought? I thought star patch prevented wii sytem updates? also how in the world i'm I even gonna patch my actual game? also this wiiscrubber gets rid of the update on the disc? or would I need to burn my game? because i have no dvd's and i'm hoping to just try to find a way of playing the game without burning the game or updating. maybe somehow tricking the wii to thinking its updated already or forcing the game to load without updating.
there one problem thoe.. my new computer cant burn music or anything, but my old one can burn music, but not sure if it's considered the same thing as burning games. also, i remember you were saying that star patch prevented system updates, but does that only apply for wi-fi updates or does it work for wii disc updates? or will the game just not work since the update is on the disc? ok what would happen if I try loading this from Uloader or neogamma? will the update still be there?
Yes, it will still require you to update your Wii if you ran it through a backup launcher, but you could try if you wanted to. And StartPatch does prevent Disc Updates. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/StartPatch
ok thanks, but I just found a better way to play the game. Turns out that you can load these games through neogamma and the Wii system disc update will not show up. PIRATE WINS AGAIN!
