DeSmuME is probably the best emulator thus far, although it doesn't really play the games very well. You'd be better off investing in a Flash card and then play the roms on your real DS

All right thanks I've got DeSmuME, but exactly how do I play the rom on it? when I load the rom, the screen remains black, and at the bottom it says "new rom loaded" and next to it, "paused", and I don't know what to do from there.

From the second menu choose execute.

Um...I know I'm probably getting on your nervers at this point, I'm sorry, I'm new to this; but where to I access the second menu?

    There're the following menus:

    File | Emulation | Tools

click on Emulation and then click Execute, alternatively you could just drag and drop the .nds file into your emulator and it will auto execute. Also make sure you have the latest version from the official site (http://www.desmume.com/download.htm)

There's devices out there that allow you to downlad games and play without purchasing. You just have to know where to look

Yes, that is the current state of NDS emulation, it is poor. This will improve with time as the coders become more familiar with the workings of the NDS and find ways of emulating different features more efficiently.

I find it hilarious that a person with a core 2 duo computer with 2GB ram, and even more powerful options can't even be able to emulate the ds. If only we could get someone working from the inside to help us...

its not just the hardware in question, its the efficiency of the software too. That will improve as the developers further their understanding of the DS hardware and software. As things stand, even my 4-CPU cluster would struggle; because its the emulator that is limiting it, not the hardware.

hey people I've got a problem here using the dualis 20.3 nds emulator. i downloaded it from the web site revgames.org (it's a Portuguese site cause I'm Portuguese :)) and next i downloaded the Pokemon pearl ROM for nds at romulation :). when it was finished i started my dualis. in the video folder i selected d3d then file load and execute then Pokemon pearl and then dualis closed ???. after that i started dualis again then selected d3d again ( if i don't select it a window appears telling me to select another texture format or use d3d or gdi) then file load Pokemon pearl then i pressed f5 (run) and the same thing happened . i think this happens because i don't have a pc that can support the nds :-[ so i would like you to tell me what are the minimum requisites for dualis to work perfectly :).
    thanks.

Hey everyone!New to the forum(but not the download's section :p)

No$gba is the bestest for ds emulator,Just finish Jump!Ultimate Star's on one ;D

If No$gba played a rom and got the "rom image crash"then try "IdeaS"
im playing Megaman ZX on that currently.

thanks for the tip yukarichan I've got the no$gba emulator but I've still got two problems now . first i would like to know if there is any .dll file to translate it to Portuguese :). second i still can't play :(. i open the emulator and a window opens telling me to insert a cartridge. i select the Pokemon pearl nds rom and a window appears split into two. then a message says the following '' the data could not be read. please turn off the power, then remove and reinsert the ds game card.'' . after that i pressed * (restart) and the same thing happened :(. have you got any suggestion???
    thanks for your patience.

Please read the common issues thread before asking questions, your question is already answered.

As for a Portuguese version, I don't think you're going to find that anywhere.
