Forgive my ignorance, but looked everywhere for the answer and can't find it...

First time I've ever downloaded NDS games via my M3 DS REAL from AMAZON, and I just need to know a few things I can't find on the tutorial's.

    1) How come when I unzip the RAR files I have downloaded from this site they end up as two new files in my folder ? Do I need to put both files onto the MicroSD card for it to work in the NDS ?

    2) What is the mirror for, I always press the Europe choice, living in the UK, but if I download an American game, do I use the other mirror ? Or will it still not work ? Do I just download European games?

Unbelievable that I actually managed to get the NDS working, but thought I should clear these up before downloading more...

    1) One file is the game. This is the one where the file name ends in .nds, and this is also the one you put on your MicroSD. The second file (ending in .nfo) is a notepad file containing information about the release group that dumped the rom. This file is not needed.

    2) The mirror is so you can get a better speed, and to reduce the load on our servers by splitting it between two servers. The only difference you will notice using the US server is the download will probably be slower, because it is a lot further away. DS units are not region locked so American or indeed Japanese games will work on a DS purchased in the UK.

Excellent, THANK YOU. Does this mean I can delete the notepad file ?

And I can use all games, not just the European versions ?

This makes the NDS suddenly so much cheaper to use, wish I'd found this site months ago before birthdays anyway !!!

Can I do the same with my sons PSP ? Whenever I look into it, it starts asking questions like which model software am I using...

you can delete the notepad file if you don't want it, yes, and you can also play all region games.

PSP isn't as easy, but it is possible. Unlike the NDS, it involves changing the software version on the PSP and how you do that depends on what version you currently have. If you still want to do it, there are several people here that can walk you through the process.

Just had a look at my PSP and the file says version 3.52 and when you enter it, it then says I have version 3.60 and does not need updating.

When I have looked at this option in the past, and it started talking about downgrading the software...I got worried and din't go any further. Surely the latest software is the best for the games I have?

Is there a tutorial you could point me towards and what adaptors do I need to buy?

    CHEERS, Mark

I have looked at the tutorial section...but I think I rank as slightly lower on the scale than complete newbie !!! I ahve not idea what a pandora's battery is ??? Nor why I should buy one at $10 rather than make one...

I have managed to work the simple NDS to get the games via ROMulation, but now both my kids want to play on the NDS and neither want the PSP anymore (used to be the other way around!!!). Am I right in assuming it's not so simple for the PSP. I can't buy an adaptor and just plug it in after dragging and dropping a few new games..

    Cheers

PSP is well worth the little bit of effort it takes to get it set up. I have 40+ PSP games, 100's of roms on emulators on my PSP and a handful of PSX games.
If you get a pandora's battery, $9.66USD shipped world wide http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12472 , and have a memory card that's at least 128MB then it only takes 20 minutes including set up.
Look up PSPGrader (http://www.x-projects.org/) and you just need that, an .eboot of the 4.01 official firmware. (on Sony's website or pspmod.com)
Three clicks and you're ready to go.

Lots of guides on the internet, you CAN mod your battery but spending <$10 on one that is ready to go is a lot better then having to spend ~$30 on a new one if you mess yours up.
