Ranks

I'm sorry if this is already somewhere else but I can't find how many posts gets you what rank (casual, console, professional, champion, etc).

 

Yet we still technically have a rank system...

If we're going to have a ranking system at all, we might aswell show post counts.

 

And where is the proof of this? I still see useless spam in every board I access.

Ask yourself this, topic creator: does rank really matter to you? If so, why?

 

Not really, it's just when I started out in the forums a lot of people were all hopefuls like me. I look at them now their all professional, champions, etc. I just felt I should up my forum activity to up my rank.

 

But now the rankings are gone...<sigh>

Now it's hard to tell if a user has been spamming, or trying to get their post count up without having to go to their userpage.
You HAVE to go to their userpage now to see if the user has indeed been spamming crap and is untrustworthy >_>

 

Most spammers spam for:
Fun. Do something with your life.
Improve stuff on site.

Removing ranks takes out one of those variables.

 

yes, but now it makes it harder to tell how much YoshiFlip has spammed this past week; He went from 'newbie' to 4 stars in basically a month 96% garbage. Seeing such drastic spikes in post count usually means they've been spamming everything, mods don't have all the time in the world to keep an eye on EVERYONE. >_>
