I have recently got my ePSX v1.06 working and I have used FFVIII(as a .Bin file) to play with on that emulator. The problem is that I cannot even get pass the main prologue without the game freezing up on me. I don't know if it's the emulator's file or the game's file, but it's happened more than once.

The game's file used to be ECM and then I have had it converted to .BIN to make it work. I use the following configurations: Pete's D3D Driver 1.76 for video, P.E.Op.S. Dsound Audio Driver 1.9 for sound, and Pete's CDR ASPI /IOCTL Driver 1.9 for the CDrom plugins.

Can anyone tell me the problem I may be having? I am afraid that If I download another game just to try if that game fixes then that game would be frozen as well and I would have wasted some time in downloading it. Thanks in advance.

An older version would do the trick? :/ hmm.

1.5.2 is newer than 1.06, and if you actually meant 1.6, then the answer is still yes. Some games work better on certain versions, and for squaresoft games its 1.5.2 that works best.
