So, who has played/ is currently playing it? Share your experiences. It used to be THE mmorpg next to everquest back in the day, and it still has a very strong player base even now. I gave up on the "official" RO and only play on private servers now.
To they really ask money for THAT game? If you don't want to pay every month, try Guild Wars, almost same as WoW but no monthly fee's (except internet fee ofcourse) BTW there is NO payment in the game at all!
BOO!! Ragnarok sucks I hate it with a passion! Well that's me anyway. When it was launched here in the Philippines it was overly hyped like when Pokemon was or still is. But another reason it was overly hyped was because it was a korean game & the media keeps brainwashing people that korean stuff are what's in, yeah right! Everything that came from korea sucks, especially their lame teledramas, even their idea of what is supposed to be funny is not. As for Ragnarok online, what pissed me off were the in game monsters which were un-original. The crappiest monster, Po-rin is a lame rip-off of Dragon Quest's Slime There are other monsters in this lame game that were rip-offs & I'm really greatful that the fad already died off.. But apparently I was wrong as Ragnarok 2 was launched some time ago & the whole fad started again :'(
Hey, hey! The slimes were ripped off from Maplestory as well. That's wierd, slimes in 3 games that look suspiciously familiar.
its good i guess.....but i never truly play RO....i only been to a beta test.....i when its lunch,..... anyway, i'm playing wonderland online now....
I use to play it religiously, until they did that transcendent class change thing where you have to be reborn to get to the next job class. That was a waste of time. Assassin X are like way overpowered in PVP it's not even funny, that's pretty much when I stop playing. The game gets really boring and lvling is tedious as none wants to party anymore. RO2 isn't that much better did the beta for it as well and boring. >_<" It's the new 3D version of RO if u haven't heard.
I'm fairly certain Ragnarok Online was out before Maplestory. And it's not like you can copyright a slime monster, it's been used over and over again by a whole heap of games, not just dragon quest... But yeah, I used to play this game a lot, still does sometimes, I take intervals of playing for a month every half year or so.
Excuse me Affinity but Dragon Quest (Warrior) was already around during the 80's on the Famicom (NES) so it was the mother of the Slime monster.

Ragnarok Online was one of the games that really started online gaming in Indonesia. professional gamers actually started to make money from it. Imagine, one character, lv 99 with a perfect built can give you Seven Million Rupiahs. enough to buy a motorbike. and it's free here too.
Quoted for truth. Now almost all the agi-based classes are so strong it's ridiculous playing any other class. I mean, you know the game's going down the drain when all you see in PvP is assassin vs assassin in a battle of attack speed. WTF, seriously. Currently, though, I'm having some fun in a private server with some friends.
