R5 kernel on an R4 card? possible/impossible?

    Is it possible to use an R5 kernel on an R4 card? Or is the card itself a significantly different piece of hardware?

    with few exceptions, it is not possible to use the firmware from one cart on another.

    Thanks people. Anandjones, you were right, I did mean N5. In Australia, you can buy an R4 at Dandenong Market for $30. AU (comes with 2GB micro SD loaded with 88 roms) or the N5 for $50. (I think they must use a 4GB card because the bloke told me there was 184 roms pre-loaded).
