R4i v1.4 upgrade

    before i spend my hard earned cash could someone help me out pls,, i have just brought a DSI and want a r4i card for it but not sure which one i need.
    If my dsi isnt upgraded to v1.4 should i update it and buy a r4i card which says upgrade v1.4 on it or am i better off leaving it and just buyin a normal r4i card that doesnt say upgrade v1.4?
    also whats the differance with the gold one?

    If you've only just bought a new DSi it should already be upgraded to 1.4 version.

    I have an R4i Gold, but from what I have read an Acekard 2.i would be the better card (thats what I plan to buy next)
