R4i-SDHC v1.4 Upgrade question!!!!

I recently bought a R4I-SDHC V1.4 Upgrade flashcart. Its the one with the red box and the yellow 1.4 icon on the box/cart. I should be expecting it in the mail later this week. My DSi is a version 1.4U. Will this flashcart work on my DSi after i put the kernel on my R4 or do I have to use a DS Lite or Phat to flash it first... Please tell me someone

 

Yes, it should do, i don't own a Dsi or a R4 card.
