R4i-SDHC boot problems

So I've had a history of problems with my R4i-SDHC, ending with me getting a new R4i-SDHC 1.4. This worked great for a while, but after I reformatted my card and installed the 1.12 firmware, it stopped working entirely. it gives me the "Menu?" error when I try to launch the R4.

I've tried this with a different flashcart (The original R4i-SDHC), with a different SD card, different firmware, and I get the same problem in all of the cases. What should I do to fix this problem? Do I need to just keep trying to reformat the card, or should I reformat the card in a different file system?

 

I have the same r4i-sdhc. I also have the original. To fix it, go to r4deluxe.com and that website has the right kernel for the card. No other kernels work for it.
