R4i problems

    I bought an R4i 1.4 recently but I can't get it to work. When I put it in my DSi and click on the icon to start it my bottom screen flashes then goes black and the top screen just stays white. When I put it in my original DS it loads as if my system is on auto mode and just says loading on the top screen but never actually finishes.

    I have tried downloading the firmware from several places and none of them work.
