PURCHASED A R4I-GOLD FROM PRICE ANGELS AT A GREAT PRICE,,, THE KERNAL LOADS FINE , WHEN THE GAMES DISK LOADS IT HAS THE SPONGE BOB ICON,,,, then it goes to three choices,, a pic of a sd card, a pic of slot 2 then a pic of an empty folder,,, i select the sd card ( of coarse ) then the games so up but they do not load...

i have worked on several different cards in the past,,,and never had a problem like this,,,, i can send pic if you email me,, [email protected]

 

How many games have you tried to play?

What I mean is, are you sure they won't play due to Anti-Piracy?

 

i have a bunch of old games from 2006-2008 they have worked on every brand i have tried,,, and yes i tried a few different games,,,,

 

and you formatted your microSD using the Panasonic SDFormatter?

 

no,, i just formatted using my laptop,, will that make a difference?

 

the SDFormatter is a better tool, it may make a difference

 

thanks for the help, i just downloaded it , my computer is asking what to open it with?

 

when you download it you opt for save then extract with winrar

 

TRIED it,, same thing happens... after selecting the game ( mario kart) it never leaves that screen

 

I can only think it can be 1 of 2 things:

Try a different microSD, or are you sure you have the correct firmware?

 

just seems odd that the games pop up , but dont load,,,, usually with wrong firm-ware i get the loading screen for white screen,,, these games pop up just no further,,,

 

which r4i gold do you have, what is the official site printed in the card, r4ids.cn ? is it this one ? wood firmware ?

got it working,,,, crazy thing , when i downloaded the kernal it was in a folder (_rpg) usually i open that folder and transfer that to the sd card,,, with this kernal i guess you move over the closed folder then the _DS_MENU.dat.. to the sd card,,, anyways im up and running
