R4i gold cheats

    how can i put cheats on my r4i gold ?
    i already tried this site http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ but i didn't worked and i'm sure my r4i is not a clone

    when you put cheats on the r4 gold it freezes once you start the game with cheats selected on it.

    I think you have to use the cheats on a rom
