R4DS - Stuck on "LOADING" ...

I've been using my R4DS for a couple of weeks now...been downloading games onto my SD card and playin' them just fine. Nothing wrong, everything perfect, yadda yadda yadda. But then just yesterday, something strange started happening... whenever I started up my DS (with the R4 inside it, and the micro chip--all correctly inserted), everything would just freeze up at where it says "LOADING", and stay there. I keep resetting the DS, but this is what keeps happening. What is the cause of this? Could it be because I constantly (bad habit here) remove the card reader and the micro chip from the computer without using "Safely Remove Hardware", or because I occasionally use my micro chip as a means of storage for other files besides games?

Another problem... I had thought of reformatting the micro chip, but I couldn't. The computer doesn't even read the chip, and only gives me this "Please insert disk into drive F:" error, which keeps happening no matter what. I'm positive, this has never happened before, in the many weeks I've had R4.

By the way, I use a 2GB Kingston micro chip and the card reader that came with the R4. Help is appreciated, thanks much.

Take out the card, blow on the connectors on the card and in the DS then put the card back in and turn it on. I t should work now

Didn't work. I tried that already. It's definitely not the problem.

If the thought, "you shouldn't be doing that" pops into your head when you are doing something then you really shouldn't do it.

I don't know all that much about R4DS but I do know improperly removing any piece of hardware will short-circuit it. It might not be that though since I don't think it would turn on at all if that was the case.

Try it on someone else's DS, if it still freezes then it's time for a replacement.

    I got a idea...

So does the SD card work at all?

On your pc or your r4?

If you can't access it, the sd card is to blame, it's DIED.

If it's a cheap brand sd card or you been regulary adding/deleting files it is a possibility, mine died after 6 months.

Scandisk is a pretty good brand, but an official kingston is a better choice.

Second the motion. Change your SD card. Chances are, it gets stuck at Loading because the Card can't process in tune with the Cart.
