R4DS game save help

    i have saves from my friends that i wanted to play but when i put it on my R4 the game save doesnt come up

    how can i save it so i can play his saves?

    Make sure that the saves have the exact same name as the rom.

    so for example i have animal crossing ww the name is

    0223 - Animal Crossing - Wild World (U)(SCZ)(F24508AA).nds

    i would name the save as that with .sav insted of nds?

    yes. If he also has an R4 it should work, if he has a different flashcart the save may need converting.

    i dont think he has an R4 the save he sent me was like (.dst)

    theres a website somewhere that converts the save files, I don't know the address but its more than likely on this forum somewhere.

    Correct, the extension is the only thing that needs to be different, the rest of the name needs to be the same.

    Remember, that R4 creates the save before loading (if wanted), so you shouldn't rename any extension of a save unless it came from the same or very similar flashcart that use the same save types.
