There are lots of different r4 but idk what type i have can someone help me?

There's only one true R4.
You probably have a fake, way to go kid.

 

The only way to tell is to look at the packaging that comes with your R4, and look for websites given on the packaging.

 

Just tell us exactly what it says on the box.

 

Actually there are 2 true R4.
The one's with the spring,and the one's without the spring.

It's a normal R4 card, I have two of them, And yes it works...

 

So do you know what type it is? ultra and all that
I have a black one and a white one. The white one
came in the same box but for some reason it cant
be updated and its in chinese. my black one is in english

are fools, because it seems (if your box is identical to that one) your black one is an original/official one, like mine.
That means the latest official firmware you should use is v1.18, or you could use Ysmenu, or both if you wanted. As for the white one that's only in Chinese, I dunno. It's odd that it is in Chinese. I would assume that it's in whatever language your card's firmware is in (ie if you get the English 1.18, the card should be in English). Are you sure you're using English firmware?

 

take a picture of the actual card, one with it facing up the other with it facing down and then post it

Nvm. My bro said it was not updateable but that is because he didnt know how to do it properly. I just did it and it works fine.
Now i wasted my money buying 2 r4s
