im looking at buying a r4 card. please could someone advise me why you cant use a normal sdhc card and what the differance is .many thanks

 

Its because about the hardware.
And getting an Acekard2 or CycloDS would be better.

 

I wouldn't buy an R4, my card of choice would be an acekard 2i, which I have recently updated to

from the R4, but if your determined that it has to be R4, then pm me as I have 3 of them you can have for free

 

acekard 2i rule.....!!! upgradeable and the best out there....i owned 4-5 r4's never again...,but i have to say im partial to my R4i GOLD.....lol.......god bless

More compatibility. And it works on the DSi as well as the DS/DS Lite.

 

an r4 is an older verson. it dose not work on dsi 1.4 update acekard 2i is a lot better got to see how it work and i like how it opens uo like a normal game might get me one lol. but you can update it to play on dsi but that another story to tell

supercard DSone has easy cheating usage and compatible to all games (all games that i owns at least)

 

I bought R4 cause at that time acekard hasn't released..
you will find so many problems with r4 but you can fix it, ,maybe try acekard?

I say you can by an R4 why?

I have a R4I RTS SDHC upgrade 3 with 4GB SDHC micro SD.
This R4 is compatible with the DSI (it plays DSI enhanced games like Assassins Greed 2 )
and I find this R4 has the least of the R4 problems that I've encountered so far.
I can play every new game without problems.

I've had a r4 for ages now.....and it's NEVER let me down.

Its never crashed,errored my saves,and Every game has worked
I also had a acekard,and it had a few problems.

I prefer r4,coz its never let me down,and its super cheap.....

But hey...thats my opinion,diffrent strokes, diffrent people.
