R4 Won't Load?

    I am using a regular R4 on my DS, everytime I load it, it goes to regular DS menu, not r4.
    I have to take out the r4 and blow on it to make it work. And if i move the DS too fast, it freezes and I have to restart the processes all over.
    Is my R4 broken?

    Do normal cartridges work normally?

    Make sure the contacts aren't dirty. And if they are, clean them off with a cartridge cleaning solution or alcohol.
