R4 SDHC Patched Kernel - Info + Download

Hello!

Lately I have been working on an kernel patch for R4 SDHC.

You can use it normally, but it will have some issues (from what I heard).

Spoiler: Issues

Problems with extra firmware on card
- Cannot load Wood R4 For Clones properly
- Cannot save with Wood R4 For Clones
- Cannot load save files with Wood R4 For Clones
- Patches won't work on YSmenu or anything related to it

Problems with homebrew
- Cannot play games with emulators (properly)

Please inform me if there are any other issues.

Extra information

Spoiler: This kernel includes

- Solves Patched ROMs (some patched ROMs confirmed crashing on the original firmware)

- Solves Some unpatched ROMs (errorcode=-8 ROMs, errorcode=-4 ROMs, note that these are examples)

- ROMCODE=-4 & ROMCODE=-8 software

- Auto-patch games to run them (solves some games unable to run on the original firmware)(this goes at normal loading speed)

- Moonshell 2. You can find it in _system_\TOOLS. Copy to the root of your card, then run NDS file inside moonshl2 folder

- Better skin support then in the previous version!

Which roms will work now?

 

Patched ROMs, and some other ROMs.

I haven't tried most, but some AP's are working.

I think so. I got a M&L BIS ROM and it worked once, then it didn't.
No it won't.

 

Since it doesn't work in mine. Is there some specific way the folders need to be in? Every folder is in the system folder. That includes moonshell and the patch folder.

 

The moonshell folder needs to be in the root, I've included it to have you play music and videos...

Also, format your card before adding this kernel.

And what is not working?

 

works mostly well on N5, it loads most of my games, castlevania games have problems, loads spirit tracks, cheats dont work well tough

 

I should add a list of "Supported cards".

 

as i said it works msotly nice, but avalon code gets stuck initializing data castlevania simply says the card is damaged (i should use Dsafe just to be sure my DS is in top shape) it does saves, and creates date, cheats dont work, waiting for your update, also im using wood R4 as a .nds, should i try patching ? (i would need to go to a cyber to do so)

 

If there's a patch for the game then patch it, then get the GamePatch resources from me.

And what's with the cheats?
My cheats work fine on this kernel.

update, some games need you to create the nds.sav in order to work, wood r4 wont initialize the game otherwise, also ill check your updated link

 

It is only in Dutch, but you can understand (my English patch suddently stopped working).

ok so what does this patch do? Does it just help with the APs

oh yeah one more question system/patch folder those are the games that work without patches right

 

You need to have the patched ROM, and then the firmware will do an compatiblity patch.

Sometimes it will not run.

There is now an Self-extracting archive available for download.

It contains extra software to help you out.

It also contains extra updates, that aren't available via direct extract.

This includes 1 exe file, that will extract 3 archives.

Guide Ready, and I've updated the Extract file link, it will have a little more compatiblity (some patched games are fixed, some homebrew now will work correctly, etc.)
