r4 problems

hello got a r4 and the Nintendo D's is not picking it up it just load's up the Nd's default screen (the one with the clock and pictochat) but when i put my own r4 card in it works what can i do to fix this problem? thanks

 

ok... clean the metal contacts by blowing them and re insert the card a few times.

 

my dad cleaned the metal contacts with some rubbing alcohol and now it works fine. and usually if it doesn't work the first time for me, i take it out, blow it, put it back, and then give the back a light tap. solves the problem most of the time

right so i done the premium vodka lol part and done the blowing of the ds and the r4 card i really do not know what i could do to fix this r4. t,b,h i think i got a broken one from the seller because my r4 works fine and the ds picks it up and the new 2gb micro sd memory card works fine in my r4 so i don't really know what i can do except sending it back.
