R4 & Pokemon Diamond saves

I'm currently using my R4 with its most up to date firmware. I have an American copy of the Pokemon Diamond rom (#1015). I also have an actual copy of pokemon diamond, bought from a real actual shop, and completed with a stupid amount of time in it.

I have the ROM simply for fiddling about and I recently stumbled upon the AR cheats for diamond. Ah ha, thought I, I'll see if I can download a save from somewhere which means I don't have to slog through the damned game again. How wrong I was. At first I could only find .duc save files, so I used the online file converter. My flashcart knows the same is there, as it doesn't say that there is no save and ask me to create one, but it won't load - instead it starts the game again.

How in (insert deity of choice)'s name can I get a completed save file on to my diamond and actually get it to run?

the savefile you downloaded's probably for (E) instead of (U) that's a common issue in getting save files for the net. Happened to me when I dl'ed a mario kart save a few months back.

If not then you probably converted it wrong

 

Or, if you used the older version of the converter, it didn't accept Pokemon saves. Try converting it again. If not, then you probably did get the wrong region.

 

Tried both regions of ROM, (U) and (E), and both regions' saves. Shall see if there is a newer version of the converter, thank you <3
