Me and my cousin are always in a debate of which is better, Edge or R4? We decided to use RomU to make our final decision. And also just to stir things up I'm not telling who's got R4 or Edge and the winner of me and my cousin gets $50.
R4 is no longer made. All the R4 carts are clones stealing the R4 name and claiming it as their own. The equivalent of that is RomUlation claiming we developed all the games we host. When you buy a R4, that's what you support. Do you want to be that guy? That said, Edge was made a clone of CycloDS, so meh, at least they didn't steal the fame of another manufacturer.
EDGE. i have two of em. they both work great, and are built well. they're just as compatible as r4. it plays music, movies, and pics. and you can get snes on there too.
Edgieee. i have this since day one on my ds lite and still works oh so go0d ^-^ edge ds is cheap but has good quality, so i'll say No to r4 =P
Definately the Edge, I had the R4, sold it and bought 2 edges for both my kids. So much easier to use and it has great updates. (I have cyclo ds which is also great by the way)
although Edge is more trustworthy nd efficient, the R4i has sometin dat da Edge duznt. U hav GamesEngine on the R4i. it lets u download games frum ur DS onto da CPU, then just get them from there, no 7zip, WinRAR, or n e thing like dat. U cn also upgrade the firmware directly thru the DS. HANDY! im a litle biast tho, cuz i hav an R4i... the Edge is probly da betr choice, but da R4i has more bells nd whistles.

r4i is way better than the original r4 i had an edge had it for 2 weeks and then it broke on me everytime you put it in your ds it would say no data available and that would be with the latest firmware and everything so r4 or r4i is way better than edge had my r4i for over a year now
EDGE. It's easy to set-up. Just put the EDGE firmware and the games on the root of the micro SD. Then you're all done. Simple and easy to use.
