R4 old version and new games

Hi guys, hope you can help me to bring back peace at home! I have two kids, both have NDSlight but their R4 are different: one supports SDHC 4giga (and its software) the other seems to support only SD, which means that latest games don't run.
They are constantly fighting to get the best one... any suggestion? is there any way to upgrade the SD R4?

it is surely an old version, even if on the package you can read R4-III upgrade; it only supports microSD cards, not SDHC (which is the one that males all their games working well).

 

What type of SD card it uses doesn't matter,you have to update the firmware on the MicroSD.

If its not the original R4,YSmenu might not work.

Try downloading the latest firmware here.

Check the box to make sure you don't download the wrong firmware.

 

Yes r4 original will work with ysmenu! 100%, any will run many of the newer (US) games...

But no SDHC type will not work

I tried the link you gave me, and now it works: to make a try I loaded "Waverly Place", that wasn't working before, and now it goes.
